Our Cottage

Sandpiper Cottage is a delightful bungalow, nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac in the small peaceful seaside hamlet of Trusthorpe – midway between Sutton-On-Sea and Mablethorpe – and only a few moments walk to the long, sandy dog-friendly beach and promenade. Sandpiper has ample off-road parking for two cars in the drive.

Our holiday home offers two large, airy double bedrooms – one kingsize with an ensuite shower room, and the other with twin beds. Both bedrooms have brand-new comfortable beds with quality bed linen, and comfy pillows.  Along with plenty of storage space, personal safe, hair dryers, smartphone chargers/alarm clock, etc., there is everything you could need for a perfect holiday. Our sparkling, fully-tiled family bathroom is adjacent to the twin room.

The large, modern and well-equipped dining kitchen has everything you need to cook a great meal, and includes an electric hob and new electric double oven, fridge/freezer, microwave oven, filter coffee machine, dishwasher and washer/dryer.  A door from the kitchen leads into our conservatory, allowing you to enjoy a comfortable alternative eating and relaxing area, looking out onto our pretty private garden.

Move through into our cosy lounge with two comfy leather recliners and sofa,  feature gas fire place, and a 55” Samsung Smart 3D TV (3D glasses included!) with DVD player. Complimentary ultra-fast free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.

Through French windows, the lounge leads onto a private terrace with bistro table and chairs, where you can enjoy your morning coffee whilst planning the day’s adventures. There are sun loungers and beach towels available.

About Us

Hi!  We’re Val and David. We have been visiting Lincolnshire for many years, both with our grandchildren, who love the beach and the buzz of the nearby resorts, and also to play golf at the marvellous golf courses the county has to offer.

We finally decided that we would like a permanent base there – preferably close to the sea, and when we found Sandpiper, it was love at first sight!

We hope you have as much fun staying in our holiday home, exploring this multi-faceted county, as we do.

So Much To Visit

Trusthorpe, a small, peaceful seaside hamlet on the Lincolnshire coast, is the ideal base for discovering the Lincolnshire coastline alongside other coastal towns such as Chapel St. Leonards and Sutton-on-Sea, with attractions nearby. The traditional larger seaside towns of Skegness and Mablethorpe are a short drive away with lots to keep the family entertained, and which provide an array of shops, cafes, fun fairs & amusements, restaurants and pubs to enjoy.

Trusthorpe also offers an ideal base from which to explore the nearby characterful little market towns of Louth, Alford, Horncastle and Spilsby, with so much to offer the interested traveller.

Travel a little further north and discover both the picturesque villages and unspoilt countryside of the Lincolnshire Wolds with its myriad cycle and walking paths.

Hungry?

Thanks to the popularity with tourists there are plenty of places to eat nearby in Sutton on Sea and Mablethorpe from cafes and coffee shops to meals in bars and restaurants. There are also a couple of take-aways, sandwich bars, and, of course, fish and chips is a specialty!

Dreams Pub & Grub is our closest watering hole, right next to the beach in Trusthorpe, and only a few minutes stroll from Sandpiper Cottage.  Dreams incorporates a pub, live music, entertainment, free WiFi, and an excellent value for money menu, with plenty of outside dog friendly seating.

Seabreeze Restaurant in Sutton is 20m from the beach and is a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike, and highly recommended.  Check it out here

China Rose in nearby Mablethorpe is the Chinese Restaurant we tend to patronise. Really good Chinese food – they also do takeaways and deliveries which were much appreciated during the various lockdowns! More info here

The Fat Seagull is a Bistro, café, shop, and pub with seating outside.  Fat Seagull

Waldo’s Traditional Fish & Chips is a popular local fish & chip restaurant, but there are plenty of others for you to try as well! Fish and Chips
